NEW IN BLUE

All events are subject to change depending on the weather this week.

HCHS Parent Teacher Conferences have been moved from February 4, 2010 to February 11, 2010 from 4:00 - 6:00.  All parents are encouraged to attend!

Archery team and club practice has been cancelled today.

The TSA LAN Party has been cancelled. It has been rescheduled for Feb. 12th.

The Latin/Spanish bake sale will not be held this Saturday, another date will be announced next week.

Congratulations - HCHS Varsity Cheerleaders won first place in the large varsity division of the KAPOS Region 2 Cheer Championships last night at Caldwell Co. High School.  The team now advances to the state competition to be held in Bowling Green at Western KY. University on Feb. 20th. The team also qualified for the National High School Cheerleading Championships at the UCA Regional competition held in Cincinnati Dec. 19th.  Nationals will be held on Feb. 13th and 14th in Orlando, Florida. Team members:  Holly Backer, Dessie Berry, Jacey Boston, Hannah Clevidence, Meredith Cook, Katelin Coursey, Kacey Crook, Elizabeth Deig, Abbie Hiett, Abby Holeman, Kendal Jameson, Casey Millhof, Ocean Pazzelli, Raeven Pierson, Kaylee Smith, Shawnee Sutton, Kassie Tramill, Mackenzie Utley, Portia Wilson, Tesla Wright.

HOSA WEEK -

Friday - Ronald McDonald House Day - (HOSA donates coke tabs to the Ronald McDonald House to recycle.)  Reminder to save coke tabs and bring any in that can be donated.  Ronald McDonald stickers and McDonald's coupons will be passed out.  Students will be encouraged to wear red and yellow to support the Ronald McDonald House

Senior Project -  Help us help Henderson - donate canned foods to the Harbor House and new gently used stuffed animals to the Children's Advocacy Center.  Donations are held in the Media Center and will be accepted through the month of February.  You can make a Difference!!!!

 

Students, please be aware that if you have any lunch charges you cannot purchase ala-carte items or extras!!  Also there is no charging ala-carte items at all.

Evening Credit Recovery School Students please remember you must attend night school at least one night this week.

(Henderson, KY)  Henderson County Schools will be in session on February 1 and February 15.  These days were scheduled as make up days in the event of school closings.  If any further days are missed due to inclement weather, the next make up days will be March 24, 25, and 26.

The HCHS cheerleaders have “Fight Song” hoodies and long sleeve t-shirts remaining from our football season sales.  The hoodie is maroon with white lettering trimmed in black.  Cost is $22.  The long sleeve tee is same coloring for $15.  If interested, contact Debbie Pirtle.

Parents we want to make you aware there is not going to be any summer school for credit recovery this summer for HCHS students.  There are many possibilities for your child to receive extra assistance before and after school via the PRIDE room and through individual teachers.  Please encourage your students to utilize these opportunities for help!   Parents you can stay informed about your child’s grades by checking Infinite Campus for student grades, contacting teacher via phone/email/conferences,  and by contacting guidance counselors.  

New Calculator Rental Program and the new calculator policy for HCHS. The new procedure: Beginning January 2010 all students must supply their own calculator for math class.  Teachers will be assigning homework with the expectation that all students have a graphing calculator.  All students must have a Texas Instrument 84 plus or silver edition or other approved graphing calculator ( ask your child’s math teacher).   You may purchase one at Wal-mart or any department store for about $110.  HCHS will be renting these calculators on a first come first serve basis for students at a cost of $30.  The student will be able to use the calculator and turn it in after finals in May or early June 2010.  Any Questions, contact Beth Roberts at Henderson County High @ 270-831-8830 or email at Beth.roberts@henderson.kyschools.us .
